China is the birthplace of tea and exhibits the greatest diversity in style and grade. About 650,000 tons of tea is produced annually, 2/3 being green and the rest evenly divided between black and oolong. Green teas are the choice for domestic consumption, followed by oolong.

The Fujian province produces an array of truly unique teas, notably jasmine. These top grades will produce a delicate and freshly scented cup.

Tikwanyin is widely produced here, the name taken from a legend of a Buddhist goddess. The dark twisted leaves result in a distinctive light red cup, well rounded and sweet.
