This island grows 68% of the Arabica in Indonesia. Many of the trees are newly planted in virgin, highly organic, volcanic soil. The coffees are only partially wet processed, and are strong and assertive. Several distinct profiles can be found here. There is Gayo Mountain which is sweetly spicy and exotically herbal and Mandheling with the deep, rich flavor and smoothness of a low acidity coffee.
